The youngest group of our society was created in 1988 so that the string students could practise in an adequate atmosphere: a real orchestra.
Since its formation, it has developed into the current Symphonic Orchestra, whose quality has been shown in numerous concerts throughout Spain. Our Orquesta has taken part in the Festivales Internacionales de Jóvenes Orquestas organized by the Conselleria de Cultura held in the Palau de la Música de Valencia, Festival Mozartmania de Alfaz del Pi; besides, it participates annually in the festivals organised by the Council of Llíria.
The orchestra plays varied compositions from the Renaissance up to the most recent pieces of music.
Together with other groups that form part of our society, La Orquesta has contributed to the success of the performance of choral works like Haendel’s Messiah, Carmina Burana and zarzuelas such as La Dolorosa and La Parranda.
La Orquesta Sinfónica Primitiva de Llíria often colaborates with famous choirs and vocal soloists like La Coral Polifónica Valentina, Coral Gregorio Gea, Coral Vicentina de las HH. del Trabajo de Valencia, Dorota Gerkobiak, Amparo Navarro, Ruth de los Reyes, Ignasi Giner, Vicente Antequera, Javier Galán and so on. La Orquesta has had the honour of participating in the closing concerts of the Festivales de la Feria de Valencia in 2002 and 2003, in front of more than 3000 attendants. It has also played in the closing ceremony of the XXVIII Certamen Provincial de Bandas de Música de la Diputación de Valencia.
Apart from recording several CDs, the orchestra has also played for the Valencian television Canal 9 TV. The soundtrack of a film has been performed by our orchestra too.
Since its creation, it has been conducted by Rafael Villarejo, José Fabra, Ramón Ramírez, Andrés Valero-Castells, Luís Cobos, Pilar Vañó, Manuel Galduf.
