In 1999, the Diputación de Valencia selected the Coral Polifónica to record on CD several works by J. B. Comes, Pere Rabassa and Francisco Morera. These pieces belong to the collection Mestres de la Catedral de Valencia, and were conducted by Vicente Barona.
In 2000, the choir gave several performances, such as a tribute to Juan Vte. Mas Quiles, the zarzuela La del Manojo de Rosas and the traditional Christmas Carol Concert, which is held every year at Christmas, under the direction of Vicente Barona Nácher.
In March 2001, the Banda Primitiva collaborated with the Choir of the Archconfraternity of the Court of Mary in the Proclamation of the Clavarios Mayores del Altar de la Calle del Mar, an event that took place in the Teatro Principal of Valencia.

Since the foundation of the Banda Primitiva in 1819, the love for music and choirs has been fundamental. The Polyphonic Choir has played an outstanding role in the representations of the lyrical nativity scenes, works in Valencian, sacred dramas and, especially, in the zarzuela. In these, in addition to the soloist parts, which were mostly female, the voices of Encarnación Santes and María Verdeguer shone.
In 1928, the Director of the Banda Primitiva, maestro Llopis, together with the student Rafael Sornosa, created a choir of mixed voices to perform mainly polyphony. Over the years, other teachers such as Machancoses Cervera, Blanquer and Hernández also dedicated themselves to the choral art, although they focused their efforts mainly on the Banda Primitiva. In 1967, Professor Vicente Barona Nácher founded the first children’s choir of the Banda Primitiva.
Thanks to the implementation of the Vocal Ensemble course, the level of motivation, participation and quality has increased. Its interventions in the choir festivals organized by the Consellería de Cultura between 1991 and 1994 stand out. In 1994, under the direction of Barona, the Coral Polifónica presented an anthology of zarzuela fragments entitled En Zarzuela Viva, as well as other complete zarzuelas such as El Rey que rabió, Los Gavilanes or El manojo de rosas, with an overwhelming success.
In 1995, the choir presented En Zarzuela Viva III, and collaborated with the Casa de Aragón of Puerto de Sagunto, obtaining a great success. Also, in October of the same year, it gave a brilliant performance at the Palau de la Música in Valencia, organized by the Casa de Aragón in the Homenaje de Aragón a Valencia. Likewise, it is worth mentioning his collaborations in the mass celebrated in the Parish of San Francisco in commemoration of the festivity of Santa Cecilia.
